Our family’s challenge
Life happens. Just pick up where you left off. Swap an activity, skip a busy day, or start small. This is about connection, not perfection.
Big little things to do.
No fancy kit. No big budget. Just a little curiosity.
Small habits.
More breathing room.
Screens are part of life. Make a little space around them — for fresh air, real conversations and a regular eye break.
Make screen-free time a family thing
Choose one moment together — dinner, the walk home or the first 15 minutes after school. Put everyone’s devices in a shared spot, including the grown-ups’. Offer two activities and let children choose. Keep essential communication and accessibility needs in mind.
Help outdoor time become the easy choice
Keep shoes and coats by the door. Begin with a nearby green space, a courtyard or a familiar pavement route. Watch the clouds, find three colours or listen for birds. Pick a route and pace everyone can enjoy; outdoor time can be seated too. Adapt to weather, daylight and children’s ages.
